Facebook releases free Pride-themed sticker set

Thursday  5 June 2014  Facebook is celebrating pride and family diversity by releasing a range of LGBT- themed sticker emoticons. The ‘Pride’ pack of 28 emoticons - which can be used in Facebook Messenger chats – features everything from a lesbian couple raising two children, to people marching with a rainbow banner.

 E.U Commission highlights childcare provision failure

Tuesday  3 June 2014  One Family – Ireland’s leading organisation for one-parent families in Ireland today – welcomes the highlighting of the need for quality affordable childcare for lone parents which would increase existing low levels of female participation in the workplace, ultimately reducing poverty levels and social exclusion for children, by the European Commission this week.

 UN Secretary General advocates for equality for all families on International Family Day’

Friday 16 May 2014 Marking International Family Day, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon noted that “Support for families is crucial to realizing their full potential. That means factoring their needs into development policies, considering their circumstances in addressing conflicts, and advocating for the equal treatment of all families, regardless of their structure”.
